Dedicated Philanthropic Efforts Serving the Dallas Area
Dondero’s brilliant philanthropy work was most notably brought to light when the Hippo Habitat at the Dallas Zoo was intending to close in 2001. The zoo went on to receive donations totaling over $14 million in order to help rebuild the habitat. An exceptionally generous $1 million of this came from Dondero and is the reason why the Highland Capital Lodge for the Hippos was deservedly named after his company. It is also quite noteworthy that Jim Dondero actively lends his support to initiatives in veteran’s affairs, education, and public policy. Read more about James Dondero on Bloomberg.com.
